Berlin: Terence Stamp’s ‘Viking Destiny’ Goes Global (Exclusive)
Territories including the U.K. and Germany have snapped up the adventure fantasy, which Film Mode Entertainment is offering to buyers in Berlin.
Viking Destiny, the upcoming adventure fantasy, in which Oscar nominee Terence Stamp plays Norse god Odin, has attracted a batch of global sales ahead of its world market debut screening in Berlin.
Directed by David L. G. Hughes, the film follows the legendary crusades of Scandinavian explorers, centering on a young Norse girl who is banished from the Viking kingdom after she’s framed for the murder of her father, the king. Ian Beattie (Game of Thrones) and Martyn Ford (Kingsman: The Golden Circle) also star.
Viking Destiny, which Film Mode Entertainment is repping for global sales, was picked for the U.K. (101 Films), Germany (Black Hill Pictures), Italy (Minerva Pictures), Australia and New Zealand (Transmission Films) and the Middle East (Falcon Films).
"I’m thrilled to screen Viking Destiny in Berlin, and just as excited to introduce our lead actress Anna Demetriou to the world," said Hughes. "It’s her first ever film role and wow, does she deliver - as an actress and as an action hero. And alongside Terrence Stamp, there is an undeniable magic."
Added executive producer and president of Film Mode Entertainment, Clay Epstein: "It’s been an honor to work with such amazingly talented filmmakers and performers. This was an ambitious first film for Film Mode to executive produce, but with such supportive partners, we are thrilled with the result. I just can’t wait to see buyers witness that first action scene."
Viking Destiny is being produced by Andee Ryder and Hughes. Exec producers include Kwesi Dickson, Clay Epstein, Tony Krantz, Phil Hunt and Compton Ross. Production companies include Misfits Entertainment and Fatal Black Films.
Financing was provided by Head Gear Films. The film was shot in Northern Ireland in partnership with Screen Northern Ireland.
